| Name: | Tigatron |
|---|
Tigatron is one of the seven Maximals that was featured in the first season of "Beast Wars" and the first of the "stasis pod" Maximals that came on-line after the Maximals and Predacons crash-landed on prehistoric Earth.
Tigatron's "birth" - if you can call it a "birthing" - was a difficult one. His stasis pod crashed into a glacier in the northern part of the planet, suffering some damage upon impact. And as both the Predacons as well as the Maximals were eager to increase their army in an attempt to strengthen their forces and gain the upper hand, the protoform inside the pod became hot property for both factions.
But with a little ingenuity on the Maximals' part, they managed to claim the stasis pod, and Tigatron was created, but to a rocky start.
Thinking Tigatron was just another animal, Megatron used him and a second white tiger as hostages to be used to ransom the (now-empty) pod over to the Predacons. When Megatron discovered that Tigatron was no longer inside his pod, he demanded to know where he had gone. Tigatron announced that he was one of the two tigers Megatron had threatened, and with Optimus Primal's help, succeeded in driving the Predacons off.
And after a brief conversation with Optimus and the other Maximals, Tigatron told them that as his circuitry was damaged and that he felt he was "more tiger than Maximal", that his place was in the wild with his "own kind". The decision was accepted and Tigatron became the Maximals' northern scout, keeping an eye on any Predacon activity in the area.
Tigatron soon settled into his new role, using the time spent to explore the terrain and learn more about the organisms that lived there. Tigatron found that plant life in particular fascinated him, and next to Optimus Primal, Tigatron was probably the one Maximal who knew the most about the world he had come to see as his own. Cybertron was the home of the other Maximals; this world was Tigatron's and always would be.
But it was during one of his explorations that he came under attack by the two Predacon flyers Terrorsaur and Waspinator. After a brief battle Tigatron fell off a cliff and into a cloud.
A cloud that hid yet another alien construction: a flying island created by the strange alien race that made their presence known in various ways - from the energon deposits to what appeared to be Stonehenge itself.
In Tigatron's mind he'd found his paradise. Though the island's defenses kept one from using energy weapons, Tigatron believed that he'd found his "land of peace" at last.
Unfortunately the Predacons had come to learn of this, and desired to take it for themselves. It was Black Arachnia who managed to take command of the island and had aimed it at the Axalon, intending to destroy it before she destroyed Megatron and took command of the Predacons. It was Tigatron himself who took out the island's anti-gravity generators, thus disabling it, and causing it to crash.
The loss of the island hit Tigatron hard, but it was another loss that almost ended Tigatron's role as Maximal warrior for good.
Dinobot and fellow Maximal Cheetor had been out on an assignment when they were ambushed by Predacons Inferno, Waspinator and Terrorsaur. The two found themselves outgunned and outmatched until Tigatron happened along. He'd sent the Predacons running - but not before a stray energy bolt hit a stockpile of Predacon bombs and caused a rockslide to come down upon one of Tigatron's animal friends - a fellow white tiger Tigatron called "Snow Stalker".
The loss hit him hard. And after an argument with Dinobot and Cheetor he declared that his part of the Beast Wars was over. He'd had enough and lost too much to continue fighting in a war that in Tigatron's estimation caused the entire world to suffer with each laser bolt fired.
However Tigatron had a change of heart when he saw Dinobot and Optimus Primal under attack by Inferno, and decided that if he didn't stand up to the Predacon's assaults on the planet, no one would.
After that events went fairly smooth until the aliens sent a golden disc much like the one Megatron had stolen while he was still on Cybertron. The disc revealled that the aliens knew of the presence of the Transformers, and were unhappy at this change in their plans, and were coming to deal with them - with lethal force if necessary.
Lethal force in the form of a planetary destroyer that had, up until now, been disguised as a second moon.
Tarantulas had created an escape ship by using a Maximal stasis pod, but Inferno had halted those plans. Black Arachnia managed to finish what Tarantulas started, but Optimus Primal demanded that Black Arachnia reprogram it to permit him to fly it instead. Tigatron wanted to be the pilot, but Optimus refused him, and so Tigatron watched as Optimus detonated the planet buster, unaware that Megatron had secretly hacked into the programming and used the craft as a means of destroying his rival alongside the alien construct.
Tigatron's final adventures on Earth came after the alien machine was destroyed. He and Airazor had set off on a mission to determine the extent of damage the machine had caused the planet. As the area where the Maximal and Predacon bases were located had taken the full force of the ray, the question remained as to what other impacts it had had upon the planet; whether there was still life on this world or if it had all been wiped out.
In fact life still existed on prehistoric Earth, and it was when Tigatron and Airazor happened upon a patch of plantlife that he and Airazor came across yet another alien device: Metal Hunter. It tangled both Maximals in its vines, and with an energy beam shot them into space before any of the other Maximals could warn them.
Once they had arrived on the alien's - who called themselves the "Vok" - home "world", they were kept in a strange form of stasis lock until the aliens caught wind of a change in the time flow on planet Earth. They reconfigured the bodies of Airazor and Tigatron into one, called Tigerhawk, and sent it to earth to deal with whatever threats might still linger there.
To deal with any Transformers still functioning on that world by any means necessary...
